My First Date (with a guy)

Despite having sex with girls thousands of times (not with that many different girls mind you...), I had never so much as kissed a boy at the age of thirty-two. I had been single around four years ago and wanted to date guys, but I just didn't know how. I created an account on gay.com and sent mail to a couple of different guys but found the responses to be vulgar or insincere. I ended up dating a girl for three and a half years until that ended spring of 2007.

This time, I decided to take the time necessary to really give things a try with guys. I decided to not date girls anymore (I'll discuss my sexuality in a future post) and focus my energy on figuring out how to date men. I created a gay.com profile and started trying my hand at craigslist.

I posted an ad on craigslist that was pretty honest about my current state and that I was looking to date a guy and that I was sexually experienced. My inbox was flooded with responses. Most of them were freakish. I had been feeling goofy and said that the idea of wrestling with a guy sounded fun. A guy sent me a grainy picture of himself and he looked okay. I agreed to meet him at a local park.

I showed up in a tank top and shorts. It was a really hot day so it didn't seem overly slutty. I also am a total gym rat so I wanted to show off a little. I couldn't find parking so I was almost late. I had to run and got there just as the minute changed to the time that we were supposed to meet. I looked around and then realized that I would have a hard time recognizing anyone based on the quality of the photo I recieved (big lesson for online dating). He had no problem recognizing me... I was horribly dissapointed. He looked a lot older than in the photo. He wasn't very attractive and was about four inches shorter than me.

I just started talking and trying to be polite. Then I decided to just talk to him and share my whole background with him. He was pretty nice and told me about his background. I got more comfortable and actually didn't mind chatting with him after a while, but there was zero attraction. We probably talked for about two hours because I didn't know how to make a graceful exit (a skill that I would take a while to discover).

Finally, I said that I should get going. He started walking away with me. Then he asked me if I'd like to go back to his place and wrestle. I said, "I don't think so," and bolted to my car. I felt like throwing up. The thought of seeing him naked made my stomach churn.

This wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be.
